About

This blog will help me to communicate my journey as a yoga practitioner and instructor. It will serve as an outlet for me to expand upon topics that I am working through personally and professionally.

As a yoga instructor, I format each of my classes around a central theme that is based in yoga philosophy. I have a library of books that I draw on, and with such a wealth of knowledge it is difficult to communicate ideas in the time constraints of a 1.5 hr class. I have created this blog to elaborate on ideas that I teach, and help not only students to learn more but to help me present big ideas in manageable ways.

I don’t pretend to know everything, but in fact acknowledge my understanding to be quite limited. With that in mind, I implore everyone and anyone to offer corrections for ideas I have misrepresented. I will also provide references to anyone who wishes to explore these ideas more.

Some of the books I am currently working with:

Bringing Yoga to Life – Donna Farhi

The Tree of Yoga – B.K.S. Iyengar

Yoga Anatomy – Leslie Kaminoff

Anusara Teacher Training Manual – John Friend

Anusara Immersion and Teacher Training Materials – Lila Brown, Sommer and Paul Sobin
